NATIONWIDE WIDESPREAD RAIN / SNOWFALL EXPECTED FROM 1ST FEB 2014. 3 STRONG WESTERN DISTURBANCE TO GRIP PAKISTAN BACK TO BACK.

This Winter is going not end any time soon Yes! it is rite one of the most powerful Western Disturbance is going to Grip Pakistan from 1st Feb 2014 Regions most affected would be extreme North and Central Pakistan, but southern regions (Karachi and Sindh) are also in for s
ome rain followed by an other COLD WAVE (not severe).
KPK & Gligit baltistan:

Widespread Torrential Downpour accompanied with moderately heavy snowfall expected across the region. There are 70% chances of Urban Flooding in Major Cities. Temps are likely to dip by 4-6'C Again. (Peshawar / Chitral / Skardu / Naran / Khagan valley / Kalaam) as per our calculations an estimated more then 250mm rainfall is expected in this region.

PUNJAB:

Widespread Heavy Rain expected in Northern Punjab (islamabad / Rawalpindi / Lahore / Jehlum / Faisalabad and adjoining regions) where as lite to moderate Rainfall is expected in Central and Southern Punjab accompanied with Lite to moderate Snowfall in Mountainous range Muree / Bhurban and adjoining regions. There are 50% chances of Urban Flooding in northern Cities of Punjab. as per our calculations an estimated more then 200mm rainfall is expected in this region.


BALOUCHISTAN:

Widespread Torrential Downpour expected across the region where are very heavy Rainfall is expected in Gwader / Pasni / Dalbadin / panjgur / khuzdar where are moderate Rainfall is expected in Quetta / Ziarat / Zhob and adjoining regions accompanied with lite to moderate snowfall over mountainous range. There are 50% chances of Urban / flooding & Flash Floods in western region of Balouchistan. as per our calculations an estimated more then 150mm rainfall is expected in this region.


SINDH:

Scattered Rain / Thunder showers is expected in upper Sindh upper where as lite showers expected in central and Coastal Parts of Sindh. No Threat of Urban flooding OR Flash floods the dusty and foggy condition in this region will ease up from 4th feb onwards. as per our calculations an estimated 10-20mm rainfall is expected in this region.

KARACHI:

Most of the Weather Models are showing lite Rain Showers for Karachi on 2nd - 3rd feb 2014 from this 1st upcoming Western Disturbance. as per our close calculations an estimated 2-5mm rain is expected.

From Vagaries of Weather:

---- Around the 7th of Feb, another northern latitude WD, WD-12 comes along in the Northern Hill States of the sub continent. Would precipitate in Extreme Northern Pakistan.
---- Early indications show WD-13 to be effective and strong and could cover Pakistan completely on the 10th.

High (white) clouds again expected to pass over most of country including Karachi today as mostly dry and cool weather to continue next few days.

A good WD (rain/snow system) is expected in different parts of country during 1st to 4th Feb followed by cold Siberian winds.

After 38 days Karachi minimum temperature recorded more than 12°C i.e. 13°C today (last night). 
Last time 15°C was recorded on 19-Dec-13 since then minimum temperature was below 13.

COUNTRY-WIDE RAIN POSSIBLE: A western disturbance will affect during the first week of February, it has the potential to bring widespread moderate to heavy rain/snow to northern areas. Balochistan would also be affected including Quetta. South Punjab and few areas of Sindh can also be affected. There are chances of very heavy downpour (>150 mm) in few areas of northern areas during the expected week.
